Madrono Restaurant in Miami

The food was delicious and flavorful however the fried sweet plantains/maduros were a bit undercooked (not always, maybe just a bad batch) but it’s okay. Other than that, it was great! Also just a heads up, if you do plan to go on a weekend where it’s usually busy the most out of all the days in the week, keep in mind the waiting time. You might be waiting for a while outside.

Fantastic food, great price, and wonderful staff

Even though the food is good I also experienced a negative attitude from the owner Ramon. The kid is never smiles. After a long wait I approached the desk and asked when I would be seated and Ramon rudely told me that I had to wait. A softer tone would be appreciated. I haven't been back since. Ramon remember this: “There is only one boss. The customer. And he can fire everybody in the company from the chairman on down, simply by spending his money somewhere else.” – Sam Walton, single dime store owner who parlayed his company into Wal-Mart, the world’s largest retailer.

Madrono is always excellent. Want to try other things but always get the carne asada special...it's my favorite.

Fast service. Good food. But, they have become stingy. No soda on tap. You order a Coke and they bring you a small Coke glass bottle. Great place for lunch. Order the Carne Asada, trust me.

This restaurant never disappoints. The food is authentic and the flavors are amazing. You will come back for sure. If you have a sweet tooth you must try their desserts they are really good just a bit too sweet for my taste. Also you can buy tortillas, cheese, coffee or pastries among other things in the store inside the restaurant they call it “La pulpería”. Items are cheaper there than if you order them in the restaurant. Like for example if you order tortillas to go, at the restaurant is $1 per tortilla and if you order in the store which is literally at the other side of the restaurant is $1 for 4. So just FYI if you want to take home some of their delicious items just walk few steps and place your order at la pulpería instead.

Have come here a few times and have to say the food is great and the service also. Looks just like a normal place from outside but inside is nice and waiters are quick.

Love my Nicaraguan food and this place was recommended by my boss. We went there for lunch, had to wait 45 minutes but it was worth the wait. They gave us complimentary appetizer for the wait for a group of 10. They don't hold tables or let you sit by yourself while you are wanting for more people. Complete party must be there to be sit it. Service was fast and food was good, they have lunch specials which is better.

Very cozy and beautiful restaurant. It's white table cloth and classy. The tamale appetizer is full of yummy surprises... definitely not plain and boring. Get the sampler for $25. It comes with about 12 items and enough for 2, maybe 3 if you're not too hungry. Beef, chicken, yuca, pork, fried cheese...it's all perfectly delicious. Try out the sangria as well, you will love it. The tres leches rounded out a perfect meal. Service is prompt, polite, and super fast. Oh and wait until you get the bread and toppings...we had to stop so we wouldn't get too full. I could have that and the sangria if it wasn't time for a full meal.

I am a long-time customer of Madroño. One evening, I placed a to-go order and there was a bit of confusion regarding the $50 bill that I used to pay. Luis the owner was kind and assisted me in the search for the missing bill with the help of his surveillance cameras. We came to the conclusion the bill must have accidentally been dropped on the floor and picked up by another customer. When it came time to pay, Luis, out of his own good will, reduced the bill by half. Not only is the food amazing, but the staff ensures that your entire restaurant visit exceeds expectations. Small gestures go a long way.

Authentic and delicious Nicaraguan cuisine, courteous staff, welcoming atmosphere, and reasonable prices, this place has them all. The food always has and exquisite balance of flavors, texture and freshness. The desserts are to die for. Every time i have family and friends visiting from out of town this is a must stop, they end up asking me to bring them back before leaving Miami. Definitely the best Nicaraguan restaurant in Miami. I'm partially Colombian, so, I'm quite used to having really flavorful dishes. This hits really close to momma's home cooking! Delicious food & friendly staff.

I've been a loyal fan of this restaurant until today when I had the displeasure of meeting Ramon one of the owners. It was 11:28 am when I walked in to buy something from their shop when Ramon very rudely told me to wait outside until 11:30 am because they werent open yet. Mind you the front door was open. The way I felt like I was told to leave the premises was not justified. Customers like me have helped you build your reputation and the generation before you worked hard to get customers coming back. Ramon could have said sorry we dont open until 11:30 am were almost ready would you mind waiting outside? instead he kicked me out like I was some sort of pest. I've spent plenty of money in your restaurant Ramon until today. Shame on you for treating customers like that.

This is hands down the best Nicaraguan cuisine restaurant! I’ve been coming here for 8 years and it never disappoints! The staff is friendly and very attentive. The food is always fresh and great quality. No complaints here :)

This is a neighborhood restaurant on a corner of a shopping center that presents as an upscale place. The atmosphere is clean and classy, the service is outstanding, and the food is authentic and excellent. We tried it for lunch and had the fish and two of the beef dishes. All were very tasty. The sangria was yummy too.

Amazing food. Great services and really clean. Their service is really fast. They keep you first start with garlic bread and salad. All in all, one of the best places I've been to.

Second time we ate here & glad we did. Usually we wait to get a table but average wait is 15 minutes or less. Came with friends & for them it was first time. They have ate Nicaraguan Cuisine before, but liked Madroño a lot. I recommend their Nacatamal & Breaded fish fillet (fried) with Gallo Pinto & Fried plantains, booth delicious. For dessert share with wife and Bread Pudding with scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream. The pudding was hot & cool ice cream on top made a wonderful combination of flavor that was delicious to my taste buds :-)

Nicely decorated restaurant in an unassuming strip mall. The food, carne asada with pico de gallo and sweet plantains, was delicious and the price was excellent (lunch special). The service was very good.

This is a very good place to eat Nicaraguan delights. Place is clean and well managed. Service is prompt and friendly. Food is really delicious. Carne asada, Queso frito, tajadas, and one of the better Gallo pinto in my opinion. We tried other nearby restaurants and Gallo pinto rice is pretty close to authentic here. Oh, Their drinks are awesome also, Cebada, Tamarindo, Cacao and one other, all excellent quality and taste. Too bad they don't serve breakfast. Will always be a spot to visit everytime in town. They also sell delicious pastries made there and other baked good imported from Nica, Rosquilla, Viejitas Somoteñas etc, and Cafe Presto to take home.

Both the food and service are phenomenal. It’s one of my favorite places for Nicaraguan food. Super decently priced. Depending on the day/time, I’d recommend a reservation because it can be a hefty wait time. Truly one of my fave places.
